With a new school year in full swing, the Girls Hope scholars have been busier than ever! As the Baden house welcomed two new scholars to their new home, the Coraopolis House was celebrating the last few days of summer with a trip to Cedar Point!
Throughout the months of September and October, the girls have kept themselves busy with both cake and vegetarian cooking classes through Sweetwater Center for the Arts, cake war competitions, work out sessions at the YMCA, horseback riding lessons, mini golf outings, dinners with Tiana, a Girls Hope alumna, and volunteer shifts at Animal Friends. While our grade school and high school scholars are busy working on their academic achievements and extracurricular activities, our most recent high school graduate moved into her new dorm room at Carlow University (to which she earned a full scholarship) and is adjusting to college life.
Now that school is back in session, our scholars have filled their free time with tutoring, study time, SAT prep classes, volleyball and softball practice, and even college visits to St. Francis University, Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, California University of Pennsylvania, and Clarion University of Pennsylvania. Our seniors are even beginning to receive their college acceptance letter! Stay tuned to learn more about what our bright, young scholars are up to!
