What is the Young Leadership Board?

The Young Leadership Board (YLB) is a volunteer group of young Pittsburgh professional women. The individuals in this group are active contributors to the Girls Hope program, serving as positive role models through social interaction with the scholars at social events throughout the year. The YLB also works hard to plan fundraising events to benefit the girls.

YLB Mission:
To support Girls Hope through fundraising, guide the scholar’s growth in character and personal confidence, and to serve as positive role models for the scholars.

Events with the Scholars:
• Monthly Dinners at both homes
• Fall Gathering
• Holiday Party
• Etiquette Dinner
• Office Tours & Job Shadow Days
• Graduation Parties

Fundraising Events:
• Hearts & Hope Party (February)
• Kickball for Hope (August, in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Sports League and P.U.M.P.)
• Happy Hour for Hope (August, post Kickball party)

What does it mean to be a Member of the YLB?
• Actively participate in the planning of one of the fundraising events
• Attend events with the scholars
• Share your time, talents, resources and love
