What types of volunteer opportunities are available? 

Girls Hope seeks mentors, dinner parents, transportation helpers, residential assistant volunteers, and music and subject tutors – all of whom provide great help to the Girls Hope scholars.  We are also grateful for household maintenance, cleaning and landscaping assistance.

Girls Hope welcomes volunteers who would like to share their skills and hobbies with our scholars through programs or activities. We are open to enrichment activities that focus on bullying, etiquette, life skills or other personal, academic and professional development activities.

Which clearance should I submit first?

The PA State Police Criminal Record Check (Form SP4-164) must be completed and processed to submit for the PA Child Abuse History Clearance (Form CY- 113).

How do I submit for the PA State Police Criminal Record Check?

You may complete the PA State Police Criminal Record Check online, https://epatch.state.pa.us/Home.jsp, and print the Record Check Certification.  Or, you may fill out the paper Form SP4-164 and mail it to:

How do I submit for the Child Abuse History Clearance?

Once you have received the PA State Police Record Check Certification, mail it with the PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form (Form CY- 113) to:

How do I submit for the FBI fingerprint criminal record check?

You must register online at www.pa.cogentid.com or by phone, 1-888-439-2486, for the FBI fingerprint based record check.  Then go to a local fingerprinting site for an electronic fingerprint scan. 

How do I get my DMV 3-Year Driver Record?

For the 3-Year Driver Record, complete the online form at http://www.dmv.state.pa.us/pdotforms/dl_forms/dl-503.pdf, or mail the Request for Driver Information (Form DL-503) to the:

How long does it take for the clearances to be processed?

Processing takes 3-6 weeks from the date of submission. You may begin your service after all clearance requests have been submitted for processing.

What do I do with the clearances when I receive them?

When you receive each of the four original record certifications and reports, please submit them to the Volunteer Coordinator. After viewing the original documents, she will copy them and return them to you!
